Despite her enormous contributions to the field of VR, Nonny De La Peña continues to confront gender bias from the investment community.

Were it not for De La Peña, Palmer Luckey the creator of Oculus might never have discovered virtual reality, the eponymous VR artist Chris Milk might still be directing music videos, and the Oscar-winning director, Alejandro González Iñarritu, might never have won a Special Oscar for his interactive VR piece “Carne Y Arena” (Flesh and Sand). Yet the trailblazing woman behind all of these men continues to experience gender bias from the investment community.
